Lírica: A Coffee Written by the Mountains of Montebonito

Lírica: A Coffee Written by the Mountains of Montebonito

High in the mist-covered mountains of Montebonito, Caldas, a small community of coffee-growing families cultivates coffee much the same way they have for generations. Here, at elevations between 1,850 and 2,100 metres, steep slopes, cool nights, and warm Andean days create an environment where coffee cherries mature slowly, developing remarkable sweetness and complexity.

Unlike large commercial estates, Montebonito is made up of family farms, most spanning just one to three hectares. Every harvest is a deeply personal effort. Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, carefully washed, and patiently dried beneath the Colombian sun. The result is a coffee that reflects not only its remarkable landscape but also the care and craftsmanship of the people who produce it.

The community has traditionally grown coffee using time-honoured methods, but in recent years local producers have embraced specialty coffee education and quality-focused practices. These efforts have opened new opportunities for smallholder farmers, allowing exceptional lots like this one to reach roasters and coffee lovers around the world while preserving the traditions that make Montebonito unique.

Why We Named It Lírica

Its delicate floral aromatics, gentle citrus brightness, and comforting sweetness unfold with remarkable balance. Its harmonious and expressive like the beautiful lyrics of your favourite song.

Our Roast

We've chosen a Light-Medium Roast to celebrate the coffee's natural elegance.

This approach preserves its vibrant acidity while developing a silky sweetness that makes Lírica equally enjoyable as a filter coffee or a bright, refined espresso. Expect a cup that is clean, approachable, and layered with nuance rather than intensity.

In the Cup

Lírica offers a beautifully balanced profile with notes of chamomile, caramel, sugar cane, and sweet orange, finishing with a lively citrus brightness that lingers long after the last sip. The washed process brings exceptional clarity, allowing each flavour to shine with precision.
